Thing 8: More Flickr Fun: Third party tools
When I went through the third party tools the one that I liked the most and found very interesting is the one called 50 People See. The person created a program that blends images combining them into one. He uses 50 pictures with the same tag, for example he has one called 50 people seeing the Eiffel tower, for that image he used 50 pictures tagged under the Eiffel tower; and the result is really beautiful and cool because it looks like a piece of art. As if you were seeing a painting. he only has 12 pictures right know as far as I could see. Nobody can see the original pictures used and he doesnt keep record of what pictures he used.

Thing # 6 Locate blogs and feeds
Hello....
I tried the search tools recommended for finding feeds but i didn't like it that way to search for feeds. Maybe I didn't know what i was doing, but I prefer to go to a website of my preference and look for the RSS or xml icon and then add the feed to my bloglines account.
The search tool that i found the most confusing was www.syndic8.com.
I did like searching on Technorati for blogs. I did a search of the grad school where I did my Masters and I found a blog of it. I did other searches of different topics and found several things. One of the searches was librarians blogs, there are a lot of them but i found one called the Annoyed Librarian that's really good and funny. You should read it...

RSS feeds and newsreaders
I always heard people talking about RSS but I didn't know what they were talking about and I didn't want to ask beacuse I was afraid to look dumb. I was relieved to know that there are a lot of people in the same boat, and I'm glad that I got the opportunity to learn about it.
What I like about RSS and newsreaders is that I can go to just one place, and find updated information from different sources. You have the news you want to read in the day in one common place, without going from one website to the other.
I can use this technology in my work by receiving updated news or information from librarianship sources, keep up with the news or the new trends in that subject.
In my personal life is useful form because, for example, I came fron Puerto Rico one year ago to work in the Broward County and I like to know what is happening in my country, so everydady I check the website of the newspaper of Puerto Rico; but know I added the RSS of that website and I have it as a feed in my bloglines account. I also enjoy sports so through my feeds I can keep track of my favorites teams and sports.
I still have a lot to learn about this feature but I'm on my way!!!

Sharing Pictures
Uploaded originally on June 30, 2007 by logjamesI'm a Cubs fan. I love the Cubbies!!! I like this picture because I remember this game and for me this game was the most exciting of the whole season. I remember watching it at home, they were losing 4-5 in the ninth inning with two outs and then Aramis Ramirez hit the walk off home run. I went crazy, and I even start to dance when the public start to sing Go Cubs Go. It was a great day. I really love baseball.
I found this picture going through flickr. This pohot was by James Logan. This was my first time going through flickr and I like the fact that you can have acces to pictures of things or events than in some way meant something to you.

7 and 1/2 lifelong learning habits
Hello, everybody.
For me the habit that I found the hardest is #3 View problems as challenges. I guess for me it's hard to remember that you can learn from your problems or your mistakes. Most of the times for me a problem is a problem. I have to learn to view them as challenges. I guess that is one of my challenges.
The easiest of course is the last one # 7 1/2 Play!! It is fun that we are doing this program because in a way we are playing with all these new things but we are also learning a lot.
